Use Wireless Safely

Since wireless networks are inherently insecure, it is possible for your work - including passwords and account numbers – to be easily stolen. The following tips will help keep your information safe when using wireless networks, including OUBASE:

  • Avoid transmitting sensitive data – such as credit card numbers, social security numbers, or passwords – to websites.
  • Turn off wireless when you are not using it. If you have the option, connect via a wired network.
  • Remove unneeded sensitive data from your computer.
  • Use a personal firewall:
            Windows 7
            Vista
            Mac OS X
