Monthly Maintenance Schedule

Information Technology performs monthly server maintenance to install security patches, perform upgrades and modifications, reboot systems and test fail-over capability. Brief disruptions to services may occur due to these maintenance procedures.

The following schedule details planned start times and anticipated interruptions to specific services based on past experience and knowledge of maintenance activities to be performed. Because these procedures include operations designed to detect and correct problems during a period reserved for such activities, actual start times and service interruptions may differ from the schedule.

This schedule is published a week prior to Monthly Maintenance, and is subject to change based on the latest release of security patches from Microsoft, Sun, PeopleSoft and other vendors providing mission critical applications to OUHSC.

Service Affected	Start	Duration	What this means to you
DHCP and WINS	7:00 a.m.	5 minutes	A network address will not be assigned to your computer if booting up during disruption.
Enterprise File Services	Friday evening to Sunday evening		Personal folders and personal Web pages stored on NewMoon will not be available from Friday evening to Sunday evening.
PDC Emulator	7:10 a.m.	5 minutes	Windows 95 / 98 computers will be unable to browse the network through Network Neighborhood.
Exchange Email - Global Catalog	7:15 a.m.	5 minutes	Email users will be unable to perform Global Catalog lookups and resolve Distribution Lists.
OUHSC Web Services	7:20 a.m.	30 minutes	Access to OUHSC Web services will be unavailable. Functionality of some Web services (e.g. search engines, database applications, etc.) may be disrupted.
Exchange Email - Information Store	7:35 a.m.	30 minutes	Email users will be unable to access mailboxes. Public folders may also be unavailable.
WebCT	7:35 a.m.	15 minutes	Online instruction and courseware through WebCT will be unavailable (Colleges of Allied Health and Nursing).
Oracle Database Services	7:40 a.m.	10 minutes	Various low-utilization databases (e.g. HIPAA training, PeopleSoft Reporting (Financials v7.02)) will be unavailable.
Oracle 9i AS (Discoverer)	7:50 a.m.	10 minutes	Oralce 9i Application Server (Discoverer) will be unavailable.
Teleforms	8:00 a.m.	5 minutes	Online forms processing through Teleforms will be unavailable.
IRB - Access DB	8:00 a.m.	5 minutes	IRB application will be unavailable.
PeopleSoft Financials (Production)	7:00 a.m.	1 hour	Production PeopleSoft Financials will be unavailable.
PeopleSoft HR (Production)	7:00 a.m.	1 hour	Production PeopleSoft HR will be unavailable, including online employment application.
PeopleSoft Student Administration (Production)	7:00 a.m.	1 hour	Production PeopleSoft Student Administration will be unavailable.
PeopleSoft Non-production Environments	8:00 a.m.	1 hour	PeopleSoft non-production environments will be unavailable.
Exchange Email - Outlook Web Access	8:00 a.m.	5 minutes	Outlook Web Access will not be avaliable
All Systems	2:00 p.m.		All services returned to normal
